His main objection seems to be that you can't remove yourself w/o support ticket. (He writes "This blurb neatly summarizes everything that's wrong with the Linked In service.") The post is more like a rant than serious objection. (I mean, what kind of benefit do they expect?! It's like a lottery - maybe you get lucky, maybe you don't. But you certainly don't if you don't even try. Unlike lottery, this is a FREE service.)
